Camp Manatee Summer 2014 flyer

Camp Manatee at Greynolds Park is looking for mature, responsible, kid-friendly people with a love of the outdoors, to work as counselors during the 2014 summer season.

Applicants must be at least 17 years old to apply. If you or a friend is interested in applying for a position, please visit http://goo.gl/FZdplg, complete the online application. Once you’ve submitted an application, call Aimee Scott 305-944-6111. You have until March 23rd to apply.

Make sure to apply to the Park Service Aide (Seasonal) (#20821). You will need to send the confirmation email you receive from the website as well as a resume and cover letter to both directors via email.

Summer camp is a total of 10 weeks (June 9 – August 15) there will be training before hand and some additional hours following the 10 week summer. It will be a total of 40 hours a week (depending on camper numbers), Friday field trips, pool days, and just a lovely environment to enjoy the summer.

Interviews will be held in April. All applicants selected will be required to successfully pass a drug/alcohol screen and criminal background check prior to employment. It is also strongly recommended that applicants have CPR and First Aid training.

Camp Manatee is held at Greynolds Park. Greynolds Park is located in North Miami Beach.

Camp Manatee will be hosting Spring Camp from Monday, March 24th to Friday, March 28th at the Greynolds Park – Boathouse.

Registration starts Saturday, March 1st. You can register your camper either in person at Arch Creek Park (by appointment) or online at http://goo.gl/gGI1ya. Space is limited.

Call (305-944-6111) or email (archcreek@miamidade.gov) the park naturalist if you would like more information or to set up an appointment to register.

The schedule for the week is in the process of being finalized and will be available by March 1st.

Camp Manatee – Winter Camp registration starts today. You can register your camper online at https://rms.miamidade.gov/RMS7/Activities/Search.aspx, Select “Arch Creek Park” in the Places field. If you haven’t already you will have to create an account before registering. If you have any issues registering online, please let us know so we can assist you in fixing the problem. Happy Autumn!

It is one of the best times of year to get out into the parks and see the sights and enjoy the weather change. The park is currently buzzing with the visiting warblers and other migratory birds.  Yesterday the bird baths had lines forming.

Hello Everyone,

This is just a reminder that registration officially starts today. You can register your camper online or in person. To register in person, please call or email the park naturalists to schedule an appointment on the weekends (Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays) until the start of camp. Appointments are available starting Friday, May 10th. To register online, click on the following link https://rms.miamidade.gov/RMS7/Activities/Search.aspx, in the “Search Text” type “Camp Manatee” or in “Place” select “Arch Creek Park.” Once register online you will still need to come in to fill out the paper registration form which acts as your emergency contact sheet. There are a few glitches but they should be straightened out by the end of the day. If you are having difficulty with the online registration system, give us a call or email so we can assist you.
